I love music and always try to keep learning how to play new instruments.
Ever since I was little, I've always questioned the wonder of life and the world around me. Like, why is the sky blue? How does our body make more blood? How are we able to move and talk as human beings? I got some of my answers throughout my years in high school, but there are always more questions that form in the wake of the answers I had just received. During my sophomore year of high school, I found my passion in chemistry, where I felt that everything could be summed down to the elements that lie in the periodic table. Their interactions with each other are what drive life and everything we see.
Along with my passion for chemistry and research, I have always had a passion for helping people. Throughout my high school years, I volunteered at the local hospital and I have continued my volunteering journey at Duke as well: in the Lenox Baker Children's Hospital.
Along with the volunteering I do at the hospital, I am also part of the Duke Science Olympiad Executive Board, as the Head of Logistics. I am also currently the Sponsorship Chair for the FEMMESHacks Club at Duke and a part of the Duke Honor Council.
The SPIRE Fellows program, besides helping us find opportunities to help us pursue our passions, fosters a community of people who are just as driven and have passions that inspire and motivate them.
