Fun Fact

I was a competitive ski racer for over 11 years

I spent the last year making the most of my Covid inspired Gap Year, taking time to expand my interests. I volunteered with the New York Academy of Sciences to help design their High School Summer Programs, and interned with HP Tech Ventures in the VR section. In my free time, I enjoy painting, reading, and ski racing. Looking ahead to the future, I’m planning on pursuing my passion for astrophysics, which I have developed through summer courses for the past 4 years, by double majoring in Physics and Math. I plan to attend Graduate School and gain my doctorate in astrophysics after graduating from Duke. While pursuing a career in theoretical astrophysics, I hope to be a catalyst for change and discovery within the field.

What do you like about being a SPIRE Fellow?

I love how Duke offers a combination of an excellent education and lasting social connections and cultural impacts. I love how the tight knit culture translates over to professor and student relationships as well. These types of lasting connections speak to the sense of community that can be found at Duke, and to the diverse and accepting campus culture.
