Academic Interests

Computer Science

I've found that I thrive at the intersection of computer science and entrepreneurial business. I love solving problems, so Computer Science came rather naturally to me. My favorite job was interning at a Silicon Valley startup, AirDev. I loved working for two really smart guys, surrounded by positive energy in the exciting environment of an entrepreneurial business. I built widgets which are small portions of web applications that can be repackaged for many website development purposes. I loved learning their revolutionary way of building web apps, and it was fascinating to see how they are disrupting the web development industry using a visual development framework known as Bubble.  During a different summer I built computers from refurbished parts, for a charity,  and also helped out at a downtown Chicago tech networking group which connects startups and investors. Last summer I interned for Dr. Richard Sandor at American Financial Exchange, where I was exposed to emerging markets and financial technology. During high school I ran Cross Country, and played Baseball and Lacrosse.

What do you like about being a SPIRE Fellow?

I am interested in Spire for the support system it offers me, and I am excited to meet a community of talented people with similar interests.
