Shana McAlexander
Assistant Research Professor in the Thomas Lord Department of Mechanical Engineering & Materials Science
Shana is an Assistant Research Professor in the Thomas Lord Department of Mechanical Engineering & Materials Science department. She primarily works with graduate students in a fellowship program focused on applying artificial intelligence to materials science challenges, but she also loves helping undergraduate students with engineering design projects. She is passionate about STEM education and career development (especially internships). She is a proud member of her Duke and Durham community, helping to organize workshops to improve workplace culture, organizing outdoor adventures like canoeing with the Brinson Lab, and volunteering with Triangle youth.
